the daily coyote

Tuesday, July 8th, 2008

I recently found The Daily Coyote and it's quickly become one of my favorite photoblogs. The basic description of the site is that a ten-day-old coyote cub was orphaned and moved in with Shreve Stockton and her tomcat in Wyoming. The pictures are evocative and lovely and have made me wish for a coyote of my own.

acrylic times rss reader

I love my RSS reader. I have hundreds of blogs and news sites I regularly follow, so having an excellent RSS reader is crucial. Currently I use NetNewsWire, but I've been thinking of switching to Acrylic's Times. They have a completely new way of showing you RSS. Instead of an email-type box, it's similar to a browser window, and when you click a link, the top pages forward and you see the story behind it.

Right now I'm using it on their 15 day free trial (it's $30 after that), and so far, I love it.

us presidential speeches tag cloud

Thursday, May 15th, 2008

I found this link sometime in late 2006 off of Chirag Mehta's blog. He used cloud tagging to tag presidential speeches since George Washington, and the results are really an excellent study in history.

I wish I'd had access to this in college. One could quite easily craft an outline of a presidential paper using this method.

design*sponge

I love Design*Sponge… a) it's gorgeously designed and b) lists very cool products and design ideas. Sometime last year they updated the design and they did an amazing job. It's unique, full of textures and colors and different mediums… just go check it out.

It's one of the sites I go too when I need inspiration.
